Filling the gap between entry level mechanical cleaning kits which are either air or electric powered and can cost up to 10 times more than our kits with specialist cleaning contractors with high pressure jetting tube cleaning methods costing anything up to 100 times more than our kits.
Why Clean Heat Exchanger Tubes?
In order to function efficiently all tubed heat exchangers require all tubes to be clean and debris free in order to transfer heat across their surface areas as designed.
The formation of deposits of silt or algal growth inside the tubes reduces the flow of coolant and heat exchange through the tube walls. Unchecked this will eventually lead to over heating and costly engine/plant failure. These tend to be caused by dirty water deposits and organic growths etc. All types of deposit on the tube walls are insulators and reduce the exchanger's ability to perform; causing high temperatures, increased energy consumption and premature failure of your heat exchanger and associated plant.
Regular inspection and cleaning of heat exchangers will maintain optimum performance and reduced running costs. Planned maintenance is better than un-planned failure.
These kits have been developed for those who need to clean and maintain small to medium sized heat exchangers in and around their plants, factories or boats.
The design criteria being ease of use, safe to handle, cost affective and ablility to cover common tube sizes and not being reliant on air, water or electricity to power the rods unlike other tube cleaning methods. There is a range of attachments to make more use of the kits.
Our kits have been tried and tested on many common heat exchangers manufactured by Bowman, Thermex, Blocksma and Funke as well as units fitted to engines by Cummins & Perkins which commonly have small sized tubes. The kits are also suitable for use with heat exchangers attached to engines by Volvo Penta, Lister Petter, Sulzer, Wartsila, Mitsubishi & Thornycroft etc. For these we developed the Yellow Rod kits. The rods are able to pass down 4mm od tubes and come with brushes of 1/4" & 5/16" The Black and Red kits are suitable for the following manufactured heat exchangers, the kits designed for tubes from 7/16" to 1" and their metric equivalent.

These kits are ideal for industrial, process, power generation, HVAC and marine applications - in fact anywhere you find a tubular heat exchanger that needs regular cleaning. No longer do you have to weld brushes to thread bar, carry 2,3,4,5 metre lengths to and from site with all the possible safety issues, no more delays when the weld fails during cleaning.
Our kits are designed for maintaining heat exchanger tubes without the hassle of long fixed lengths, organising power for mechanical systems making this a very portable kit, a must for all field engineers and maintenance teams.
The standard kit range covers sizes from 1/4" od tube up to 1" plus od tube with lengths from 60mm to 6000mm.
